Spark Mentorship Program
"Since partnering together in 2017, we have delighted in the experience of working together to grow the business. Sharing our own unique perspectives and working collaboratively has allowed the company to flourish and new and exciting ways. In 2019, we decided to share that experience with other entreprenuers by launching the Lover’s Tempo Mentorship Program."
- Elaine & Leslie
In 2019 and 2020 we selected two applicants to receive a series of three mentorship sessions where we try to tackle some of the challenges their businesses were facing. Here is some information about Beam Paints and Wrappr, our first two mentees.
"I am so thrilled and excited to be chosen. . . Their support and mentorship comes at a crucial time and I look forward immensely to learning from them!"
– ANONG BEAM
Beam Paints, headed by artist and paintmaker Anong Beam, is the result of a multi generational love of pigment, paint, colour, and innovation. Anong creates handmade, highquality watercolours and wild foraged inks using her personal experience in indigenous pigment. Their watercolour pans are packaged in slices of cedar and birch that are offcuts from an indigenous sustainable lumber operation, making their packaging completely plastic-free.
"I feel like this mentorship is becoming a part of my journey at a perfect time, it’s very motivating to have someone to talk to and I’m excited to speak again."
– BRITTANY TRAFFORD
Brittany Trafford is the mind behind Wrappr, a no-waste alternative to gift wrapping. Their reusable product is made out of recycled materials while also being organic and biodegradable. Brittany offers the opportunity for artists to submit designs for consideration, pays them upfront for the artwork and also offers a royalty of $1 per every sale. We loved the creative and collaborative nature of Wrappr’s business and the sustainability messaging behind the product.

Other ways we give back
We believe in all the creative, independent, free thinkers out there who are up to stuff. We know that when you feel your finest, amazing things happen. Feeling your finest is a much deeper endeavor than simply the way that you accessorize. That’s why we’re committed to supporting people, causes and organizations centered around improving the well being of all of the diverse people living on this planet (and the planet herself). We wanted to highlight some of the organizations, causes, businesses and individuals that we have supported in service of this mission so far:
